1^st Prize“A New Heart for the City”“We preserve the city hall building from the 1980s in its qualities, renovate and extend it into an harmonious ensemble, an address that citizens can identify with.” “The generous, light-flooded foyer serves as the new core of the complex, connects the old with the new, and provides easy orientation in the complete building.”“The C form of the existing structure with its extroverted public square is complemented with an intimate inner courtyard created by the U-shaped extension, forming a functional whole that interlocks coherently with the urban surroundings.”“Behind the clear structure of the shell, maximum flexibility is provided. Open office landscapes with good acoustics are equally as possible as more enclosed areas.”“The vertical and horizontal axes of the entire building are spatially interconnected.
